On 23rd March, the Stay Home directive was announced and Northern Ireland went into lockdown to curb the spread of Covid-19. On 12 May, the Northern Ireland Executive launched their phased roadmap for relaxing COVID-19 related restrictions.
While we were all in the same storm, we were not all in the same boat and everyone experienced this challenging time differently. For some, it offered the opportunity to slow down the pace of life and gave them more time with their loved ones or time for self-reflection. For others, it was a stressful, lonely or worrying time.
Our participants shared their experiences of life under Lockdown including nature walks, taking up new hobbies, supporting the NHS and endless Zoom sessions.
